Before, grafted Oval window

Decided to go with a prototype style rear louvered hatch, so Oval window is removed

page hit counter

Used a Super Beetle front hood as the basis of the shape

Starting with the inner window, I started off with a bus hatch

Cut into pieces to make it smaller

Top of the luggae tray welded to the bottom of the new window

New outer skin cut and fitted

Inner view so far

The skin removed then frame stretched ti match the body width

The hood lines are arranged to form the 'W'

Start of the hatch frame using the rear window frames off donor rooves

Frame completed using a donor's quarter window frames as sides

(The start of) the inner skin then folded over the hatch frame

Outer skin of inner window frame folded over the hatch frame

Bead lines added to complete the roof lines

Rear half of a donor roof is cut to use for the hatch

** Picts accidentally deleted between steps**

Inner frame made and skin trimmed.  Louvers painted for the car show.   Only hinges are left to be made
